FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS 27th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science (WG 2001) Boltenhagen near Rostock, Germany, June 14-16, 2001 http://wwwteo.informatik.uni-rostock.de/wg2001/ The WG 2001 workshop continues the series of 26 previous WG workshops into the new millenium. Since 1975, WG took place twenty times in Germany, two times in Austria as well as in The Netherlands and once in Italy, in Slovakia and in Switzerland. WG 2001 will be held at Boltenhagen (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) which is a nice conference site directly on the Baltic Sea. AIMS AND SCOPE The workshop aims at uniting theory and practice by demonstrating how graph-theoretic concepts can be applied to various areas in Computer Science, or by extracting new problems from applications. The goal is to present recent research results and to identify and explore directions of future research. The workshop is well-balanced w.r.t. established researchers and young scientists. For many years now, the proceedings have been published in the LNCS series of Springer-Verlag. Accepted papers in final form will be due approximately one month after the workshop. Papers describing original results on all aspects of graph-theoretic concepts in Computer Science are solicited, e.g. papers on structural graph theory, sequential, parallel, and distributed graph and network algorithms and their complexity, graph grammars and graph rewriting systems, graph-based modeling, graph drawing and layout, diagram methods, and support of these concepts by suitable implementations. The scope of the workshop includes all applications of graph-theoretic concepts in Computer Science, including data structures, data bases, programming languages, tools for software construction, communications, computing on the web, mobile computing, concurrency, computer architectures, VLSI, artificial intelligence, graphics, CAD, operations research, and pattern recognition. SUBMISSIONS Authors are invited to submit their papers electronically in PostScript format. Detailed information about the submission procedure will be given in the second announcement in the beginning of January 2001. Submitted papers should consist of a maximum of 10 pages with ample margins all around. The PostScript file must print on European A4 format and US Letter Size format. Hard-copy submissions are discouraged, but they will be considered. The organizers will acknowledge the receipt of submitted papers. Please, keep in mind that e-mails can get lost - if you do not get a receipt by e-mail, please resend your submission. The program committee, supported by referees, will decide about accepting or rejecting submitted papers. Accepted papers are expected to be presented at the workshop.
