Conference Registration Information


ISSAC'98 will be held in the main building of the University of Rostock.
The conference starts on Thursday, August 13, and ends on Saturday, August 15.


Conference Fee

Amounts are given in German Marks. Exchange rate on April 17: US$ 100 = DM 180.
Member prices are available to GI, DMV, GAMM, ACM, SIGSAM and SIGNUM members.
Payment has to be received before July 04, 1998 in order to qualify for reduced fees.

The conference fee includes one copy of the proceedings, coffee and tea during breaks, and DM 85 for the reception on August 12 and the banquet on August 13. Lunches are not included. The price for each additional banquet ticket is DM 65.


Tutorials

On Wednesday, August 12, three tutorials will be given by leading experts. The tutorials are intended for students and researchers to broaden their knowledge base. The fees are

Mini-Symposium

On Wednesday, August 12, a mini-symposium entitled ``The Future of Mathematical Problem-Solving Environments'' will take place. During this meeting, representatives of NAG and Waterloo Maple will describe how to integrate different computational paradigms, and invited speakers from academia and industry will outline their own requirements and expectations.

The participation is free.


Social Events

Post Conference Tour: On Sunday, August 16, there is the opportunity to attend a post-conference-tour. The tour is taken by bus and includes tourist attractions around Rostock:
- the town Bad Doberan with its beautiful Gothic minster,
- Heiligendamm, the oldest german spa at the Baltic Sea,
- Kühlungsborn, a tourist center at the Baltic Sea.
Also, a ride with the historical train "Molli" is included.
Expected costs: DM 50 (lunch not included)

Sightseeing Tour (especially for accompanying persons): On Friday at 1 pm there is the opportunity for a sightseeing tour through Rostock. During a walk-around certain tourist attractions are visited and traditional crafts are shown, such as "blue print" and amber arts.
After a little coffee break you might take a trip to Warnemünde by ship.
Expected costs: DM 20 (ship fare not included)

Payment for these tours is due in Rostock.

Please note that bank fees must be paid by the participant.
You may also authorize the conference treasurer to charge your credit card for the appropriate amount indicating the required credit card data in your registration form. In case you wish to cancel your registration, please let us know as soon as possible. We regret that a refund of the conference fee is only possible if your registration is cancelled before July 20, 1998. Before this time the refundable amount is 90% of your fee.
